LaGRANGE — A unique approach to reading the Bible is set for this weekend on Lafayette Square.

For 48 straight hours, volunteers from around the community are planned to take turns reading out loud different passages of scripture.

The event is part of a month of community celebrations planned by two local women: Kendall Butler, a local Realtor with FLI Properties, and Wanda Walker, host of the local TV show “You Make the Difference.”

The readings will start at sundown on Saturday and go through Monday at 6 p.m. There is a concert featuring a local praise band planned on the square after the readings. It is open and free to the public.

Walker said they are still looking for volunteers to read scripture in 15-minute, 30-minute or one-hour intervals.

Anyone wanting more information or to volunteer may contact Walker at 706-402-5634 or kingdomcommunity@hotmail.com.
