Juveniles arrested for allegedly throwing item at cars

Three juveniles found themselves temporarily behind bars after they one was allegedly caught throwing an object at cars then fleeing about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The motorists told LaGrange police they were in the drive-through at the Captain D’s restaurant at 104 Commerce Ave. when they spotted three juveniles digging in the bushes near the parking lot.

One of the drivers said a juvenile wearing a black hoodie then threw an item at her 2006 Jeep Commander that hit the passenger-side door, causing a dent. According to the driver, the object then hit the car in front of her.

The driver immediately called police and described what the juveniles were wearing.

LaGrange officers caught up with the three suspects in the parking lot of the CVS on Morgan Street and the driver identified one as the vandal. The three were taken to the LaGrange Police Department and placed in a temporary holding cell until their parents picked them up.

Two parents were issued warnings for parental responsibility.

Police issued a complaint of criminal trespass to the juvenile who allegedly threw the object. That child and parent will have a court date in the future.
