A thief took hundreds of dollars in yard and maintenance equipment, and a pair of Ray-ban sunglasses, from a carport in the 500 block of Waverly Way.

The resident reported stolen a Craftsman weed trimmer valued at $200, Poulan and Husqvarna chainsaws valued at $60 each, Schumacher battery charger valued at $125, Honda presser washer valued at $200 and Ray-ban sunglasses with a case, paperwork and a cloth with a total value of about $265.

The resident told LaGrange police she wasn’t going to report the theft until she saw news of tools and other objects believed to be stolen, which were found in a recent search of a Boulevard home by sheriff’s deputies. She thinks her items may have been recovered from that incident and intended to contact the sheriff’s office.

Family victims of fraud

A LaGrange woman reported Tuesday to police that she and two family members were victims of bank account fraud.

The woman reported that someone fraudulently used her bank account at stores in McDonough and Stockbridge for a total $768. She also reported her daughter’s bank account was fraudulently used at stores in Douglasville for a total $940.13.

Her son in law also had fraudulent activity on his account, but it had already been removed by his bank before she made the report.

The victim said all three had recently used their cards at the same local restaurant.

Damage

An employee of Interface at 1503 Orchard Hill Road reported a vandal shattered his car’s rear window some time between 3 and 11 p.m. Tuesday while he was at work.
