LaGrange police are investigating a suspected arson after someone lit a bottle containing gasoline on fire next to a home in the 100 block of Keyes Street about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The LaGrange Fire Department was initially called out for a grass fire next to the home. Investigators said firefighters then discovered the bottle of gasoline with a burned rag near the flames.

According to investigators, the fire was set directly beside the home.

Teen arrested for cutting another man

LaGrange Police Detectives took a 16-year-old male into custody about 2:15 a.m. Friday at a home in the 200 block of Hearthstone Drive after he allegedly cut another man with a knife.

According to the police report, when officers arrived at the house, they found a 45-year-old man who had been severely cut several times on his body.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition is not known as of press time.

Detectives said the teen was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a knife.
