LaGRANGE — A portion of North Greenwood Street will be closed this week as crews from the Georgia Department of Transportation conduct maintenance.

North Greenwood Street between Highland Avenue and Smith Street will be closed as crews replace a culvert that runs beneath the road, according to Mindy Kelly, a program associate with GDOT’s LaGrange office.

Local traffic can still travel on North Greenwood Street between Broad and Smith streets, and Mooty Bridge Road and Highland Avenue.

Kelly said GDOT is coinciding the repairs, which are in front of LaGrange High School, with Troup County schools’ spring break.

GDOT expects the road work to be finished by Monday.
