Events: The Active Life senior center at 140 Ragland St. offers oil painting classes at noon for all adults 55 and older. 706-883-1681

The Friends of the Library Mega Sale will be held at the LaGrange Memorial Library in the Fackler Room on noon–5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. There will be a “brown bag” sale 2 p.m.–5 p.m. Saturday where customers pay $5 for all the books they can fit in the bag. CDs also will be available for $1 each.

Meetings: The West Georgia chapter of Fort Valley State University Alumni meets at 10 a.m. at the William Griggs Recreation Center.

Events: The 26th annual Troup County March for Babies is 10 a.m. at Hollis Hand Elementary School, 641 Country Club Road. Legacy Museum on Main, 136 Main St. in LaGrange, hosts the exhibit Lifting More Voices: Early Troup County Black History through Sept. 16.
