Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office arrested a former employee of Airforce Heating and Air for reportedly taking thousands of dollars from the company.

Donna F. Yon, 43, of LaGrange, was taken into custody last week and booked into the Troup County Jail, investigators stated. She is currently out on bond.

Yon is accused of taking more than $10,000 from the business without proper authorization, investigators said.

The woman allegedly used the company credit card to take the money, said TCSO Chief Investigator Mike Caldwell.

Yon worked inside the purchasing and bookkeeping division of Airforce Heating and Air, Caldwell stated.

It was not clear how long Yon worked with the company.

Burglaries

• An anonymous 911 call just after 10 p.m. on Monday led LaGrange police officers to a home that was recently broken into in the Tall Pines apartment complex at 150 Turner St.

Officers discovered broken glass and a window screen laying in front of an apartment in the “D” building, the police report stated.

No one was home, but LPD officials were able to contact the woman who lived there and asked her to come home, the report stated.

The owner told police the only item missing from the apartment was a 65-inch Mitsubishi flat-screen television.

The TV was valued at $1,100.

• A LaGrange College student told police someone stole his Hewlett Packard laptop out of his dorm room in the Boatwright building at 601 Broad St.

The student said he left for class about 9:30 a.m. on Monday, and discovered it was gone when he returned to his room about 11:15 a.m., according to a report.

Police are investigating.
