Woman fraudulently uses children’s identities

A Troup County woman remains behind bars this weekend for allegedly utilizing the identities of minor children to scam businesses and financial institutions.

Kathryn Page Tucker, 30, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of felony identity fraud, two counts of felony financial card fraud, one count of negotiating a fraudulent check and one count of theft by taking a vehicle.

Tucker reportedly used the identities to falsely obtain credit and merchandise, stated investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

She remains in the Troup County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

Woman resists arrest

A driver ended up behind bars after refusing to cooperate with LaGrange police during a traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of Whitesville and Webster Streets early Thursday morning.

When officers stopped her car, they discovered she was driving on a suspended license, the report stated.

Police allegedly asked her to step out of the vehicle, but she reportedly refused, according to the report.

When the woman eventually got out of her car, she pulled away from officers so they could not place her in handcuffs, the report read.

Police were able to take the woman into custody.

She was charged with driving unlicensed and obstruction.

Teen attacks mom

A 17-year-old girl was arrested for allegedly assaulting her mom inside their home in the 800 block of Monroe Street Wednesday night.

The mother told LaGrange Police her daughter has a history of running away and she was attempting to leave the home again.

When the mother tried to stop the teen, the girl allegedly began punching her mom at least 20 times in the face, the report stated.

Officers noticed a cut on the victim’s lip, according to the report.

The teen told police her mom grabbed her first and elbowed her in the eye, so she fought back.

Police saw the girl’s eye was bloodshot, the report read.

The teen was arrested and charged with battery under the Family Violence Act.
