From Staff Reports

Delivery of the Thursday edition of the LaGrange Daily News to home subscribers will be delayed due to anticipated poor Wednesday night weather conditions. The newspaper will still be available to home subscribers via the online E-edition Thursday morning.

In light of the most recent information from the National Weather Service, the decision has been made to delay Thursday delivery until Friday.

“Bitterly cold temperatures have allowed snow to compact into ice across many roadways in the area.” A Hazardous Weather Outlook released by the National Weather Service at 1:50 p.m. EST for 97 north and central Georgia counties, including Troup County, reads. “Despite ample sunshine through the day, temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing. Snow and ice will continue to be a problem on roadways today and tonight. Roads in direct sunlight today may experience some melting, however expect this to refreeze fairly quickly after sunset tonight. Widespread melting is not expected until Thursday afternoon.”

This information, along with a wind chill advisory in effect until Thursday morning for the LaGrange area, will cause Thursday delivery will be delayed. Thursday edition newspapers will be delivered along with Friday edition newspapers on Friday, Jan. 19 via USPS.
