Fugitive arrested by police Saturday

September 23, 2013

A man wanted on trafficking methamphetamine charges was arrested Saturday.

According to a police report report, the residence of Gene Thomas, 46, was searched last week where approximately 18.5 ounces of crystal methamphetamine was located in the home. Thomas previously had a warrant for trafficking methamphetamine from an earlier incident in LaGrange.

On Friday, Thomas fled from officers in the Chambers County and West Point area when an attempt was made to arrest him. Officers were able to locate Thomas Saturday and conduct a traffic stop on him where he was arrested by officers with the LaGrange Police Department and West Metro Task Force officers without incident.

He is charged with three counts of trafficking methamphetamine.
