Monday was the first full day of fall, but it’s already time to start planning for Christmas.
LaGrange Personal Aid will be taking applications for the LaGrange Empty Stocking Fund on Oct. 9 and 16.
The program is open to Troup County children, except for those living in Hogansville, which has its own Empty Stocking Fund.
The Empty Stocking Fund will provide toys, books and some personal hygiene items to children ages 3-12. About 450 children were helped through the program last year. Information on the program has been sent to schools and day cares so that parents are aware of it.
LaGrange Personal Aid will take applications from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at its offices at 416 Pierce Street. Those who apply will need identification, proof of income for the last 30 days and custody papers if the child is adopted or is a grandchild.
