Park will be ‘placeholder’

The Callaway Foundation is renovating the site on the southeast corner of Lafayette Square that was once home to a bank. The building was demolished in the last year and the greenspace will be a ‘placeholder’ until someone wants to build on the property, city officials said Thursday. The improvements include a walkway from the parking area next to LaGrange Art Museum to Main Street. The marble sign from the bank was saved and will be incorporated into the space, City Manager Tom Hall said.
