A LaGrange man has been charged with kidnapping after he allegedly held a woman hostage in a car Wednesday.
A LaGrange police report says that a woman was giving Tobias Grier, 24, the father of her child, a ride at around 5:50 a.m. As the woman approached the intersection of Hamilton Road at Auburn Avenue, she told Grier to get out of the vehicle and at that time, Grier allegedly grabbed the woman by her neck and forced her into the passenger side of the vehicle, the report said. Grier got into the driver’s seat and fled the area, holding the woman against her will.
The victim told police that during that time, she was physically assaulted and threatened.
After about 90 minutes, Grier got out of the vehicle and the victim called 911 where officers were able to locate her.
The woman sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Grier, 24, was arrested a short time later and charged with kidnapping, battery, stalking and simple assault. He is being held at the Troup County Jail without bond.
