Check point proves LPD needs budget cut

November 30, 2013

At mid day on Saturday, Nov. 23, the LaGrange police were indiscriminately stopping traffic on Hill Street.

When asked what the purpose of the stop was, a sanctimonious officer barked, “license check!” The officer’s response was likely accurate; given the time of day the obstruction of vehicular traffic was not a ruse for apprehending DUIs.

If the police department has nothing better to do than locate those who have failed to carry their driver’s license, the police department needs a budget cut.
