The Callaway Lady Cavaliers were unable to keep pace with Chapel Hill Saturday night.
After opening their Region 4-AAA schedule with an easy win over Rockmart on Friday, the Lady Cavaliers were overwhelmed by Chapel Hill a day later.
Chapel Hill charged out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter, and it rolled to a 60-39 victory.
The Lady Panthers (9-4 overall) improved to 2-0 in the region, while the Lady Cavaliers (4-4) fell to 1-1 in the region.
After taking the 10-point lead after the first quarter, Chapel Hill kept it going in the second period to take a 36-19 lead at the half.
The Lady Cavaliers were within 16 early in the third period, but the Lady Panthers dominated the rest of the quarter to take a 54-31 lead.
The Lady Cavaliers outscored the Lady Panthers 8-6 in the fourth period, but the outcome had been decided by then.
Freshman Alexus Scott scored 12 points to lead Callaway in scoring for the second straight game.
Scott had 14 points in Friday’s game against Rockmart.
Callaway will look to get back on track on Tuesday at home against Douglass.
