The LaGrange College baseball team will have to wait at least a few more days to get its first victory of the season.

After beating LaGrange College at home on Friday, Birmingham Southern swept both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday at Williamson Stadium at Cleaveland Field.

The Panthers (0-3) will look for their first win on Wednesday when they visit Emory, and they’ll be back home on Thursday to face Bates.

Jonathan Fleckenstein gave up a couple of runs in 2 2/3 innings, and Tyler Brooks didn’t allow a run in 1 1/3 innings.

The Panthers only had four hits, and James Maxwell had one hit and an RBI.

Adam Terrinoni also had an RBI for the Panthers.

In the 6-2 loss, the Panthers were limited to six hits, and Cain Sauls had two of them with an RBI.

Casey Bell added a hit and an RBI for the Panthers.

Justin Yestrumsky got the start for the Panthers, and he went six innings and gave up six hits and two earned runs.
