Man arrested after home invasion

Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in a home invasion and burglary of a residence on East Mount Zion Church Road.

John Deon Grady, 46, of Luthersville was arrested on charges of criminal attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary in the first degree.

Grady broke into a home armed with a shotgun, pointed his gun at the residents and demanded money, Monday morning at 4:52 a.m. Children and adults were both inside the home the report said.

According to the report, Grady fled the scene before deputies arrived, but was found later in the day by investigators.

This incident is still under investigation and further charges are pending.
