Three people were arrested and thousands of dollars worth of stolen firearms and other items were recovered from numerous residential burglaries on the west side of Troup County.

Joseph B. Kelly, 20, of Chambers County, Ala., and Tevin J Stinson, 20, of Lee County, Ala., were arrested and charged with seven counts each of burglary in the first degree, and one count each of attempted burglary, according to a press release by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

Kelly is currently in the Troup County Jail awaiting a bond hearing. Stinson was released under a $40,000 bond.

TCSO investigators networked with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and were also able to arrest and charge Craig Stinson, 21, of Lee County, Ala., with two counts of felony theft by receiving stolen firearms.

The burglaries had been occurring over the last few months until investigators developed sufficient evidence to bring charges in the cases, officials said.

According to the press release, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
