The 2014 graduates of Sound Doctrine Christian Academy received a special guest speaker for their graduation ceremony Tuesday night held at First Baptist Church on the Square. Film and television actress, Allie Grant, delivered on a promise she made four years ago to speak at Sound Doctrine’s graduation.

Grant, best known for her role on the television series “Weeds” where she played Isabelle Hodes, became friends with Sound Doctrine graduate, Elijah Parham, four years ago when the two met at a talent conference in Dallas where Grant was teaching a group of aspiring actors, writers and singers.

It was then, Parham asked Grant if she would speak at his graduation four years from then.

“He just asked if I would come when the day arrived for his graduation and I said of course,” Grant said. “Then he wrote four years later and said ‘I don’t know if you remember me but the time’s come’ and I told him I would, so I’m here.”

Grant can also be seen in shows like “Suburgatory” and “The Suite Life of Zach and Cody”.

Sound Doctrine Christian Academy graduated 11 students last night including Valedictorian Jakayla Tucker and Salutatorian Elijah Parham. Other students receiving their diplomas were Terell Bagley, Ke’Neirdra Cameron, Grover Crowley, Cedric Daniels, Devonta Harrell, Whitney Kates, Tadorian Robinson, Dequayvious Tigner, and James Wagner.
