Hogansville Police arrested two men on marijuana charges on May 5 on East Main Street in Hogansville.
According to a police report, Kebrandon W. Stewart, 29, and Kristopher R. Reed, 29, both of Tuskegee Ala., were arrested after police found over seven pounds of marijuana in their vehicle.
Around 3:30 p.m. Sgt. Raymond Gates observed a car on southbound Interstate 85 with dark tinted windows, which were later to be found out of compliance. He pulled out and followed the car off the interstate and onto East Main Street where they pulled in next to a gas pump at the Hummingbird Gas Station, according to Gates.
Gates approached the men in the car who said they could not roll down their windows very far because the car was already off and it too long to “crank” up.
According to Gates a smell of marijuana was coming from the car and he asked Stewart and Reed to step out of the vehicle. When asked how much marijuana was in the car, Stewart stated “a little bit” and later said five pounds.
A search of the vehicle located a shopping bag in the rear seat containing over seven pounds of marijuana and a zip lock bag containing high grade marijuana, according to Gates.
Both Stewart and Reed were transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office and are facing charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
