Man accused of wife’s murder arraigned in court

Charles Hardy, 40, of LaGrange, accused of the murder of his wife, was arraigned Tuesday in Troup County Superior Court and entered a plea of not guilty.

Hardy is facing charges of malice murder, aggravated assault and felony murder in the beating death of his wife, Pamela Hardy, 43, at their home in the 800 block of Colquitt Street.

Police found Pamela Hardy, who police said appeared to have been assaulted, on Dec. 13, 2013. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers began a search for Hardy, who was apprehended Dec. 23, in Knoxville, Tenn., by the U.S. Marshal’s Office with the assistance from the Knoxville Police Department. He has since been held in custody at the Troup County Jail.
