Three charged on importing contraband into jail

Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office have charged three, including an inmate, in an alleged conspiracy to import contraband into the Troup County Jail.

Inmate Johnquavious Patillo, 23, and Sharonica Sharpe, 35, both of LaGrange have been arrested and charged. Antonio Sharpe, 36, of LaGrange has not yet been arrested, but is involved according to officials. Sharonica was arrested on June 6.

According to reports, both of the Sharpe allegedly crossed guard lines with a cellphone charger and tried to throw it into the jail after crossing guard lines in an attempt to sneak it to Patillo. At some point during this incident, county property was damaged. The cellphone charger was recovered during a check of the premise.

Patillo is currently in custody on drug and gang charges according to officials.

All will be charged with items prohibited for possession by inmates.
