Man arrested for allegedly transporting synthetic marijuana

A deputy with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office arrested William Lee Dorsey, 33, of Luverne, Ala., on drug charges shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday night.

A report stated that Dorsey was pulled over on Interstate 85 southbound near mile marker 12 for following too closely. After stopping the vehicle and speaking with him, a deputy discovered Dorsey allegedly had a synthetic marijuana cigar in the center console of his vehicle.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Dorsey allegedly was transporting 538 individual bags of synthetic marijuana with an approximate weight of over eight pounds, according to reports.

Dorsey is facing charges of possession of a schedule I narcotic with intent to distribute and following too closely.
