A routine traffic stop became anything but routine after Troup County Sheriff’s deputies discovered suspected drugs inside the car.

Investigators said one of their deputies pulled over a black Honda Civic on Interstate 85, near mile marker 18 yesterday for an improper lane change. After stopping the vehicle, the deputy noticed two of the passengers allegedly had heroin, cocaine, pills, and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. The quantities of each drug is not known at this time.

Both passengers were transported to the Troup County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
