Christopher Cherry, 28, of LaGrange was arrested Thursday in the 100 block of Marshall Street on Aggravated Assault charges after he allegedly struck a man in the head with a bat causing a large laceration on the man’s forehead.


Burglary/Theft


A man from Forrest Avenue reported he was sitting in his room when he heard a loud bang on the door. At first he thought it was his grandmother coming home, but then he heard the door fly open as if it was kicked in. He grabbed a shotgun and ran after a male who was trying to break into the home. The suspect fled into the woods as the victim fired shots at him.


Police responded to Callaway Avenue in reference to a burglary where a 50 inch television, valued at $600, was stolen, along with a Acer laptop valued at $300.


A man reported that sometime during the night, someone stole his center hub caps off his car parked in the 100 block of White Blvd. He reported this is the second time this has happened.


Criminal Trespass/Damage


Two juvenile girls were arrested after they were caught on camera continually trespassing into a barn on Sassafras Hill since April where they would trash the barn and throw items everywhere and leave the gates open.


A woman from the 1000 block of Juniper Street reported she woke up in the middle of the night and saw a black male standing in her bedroom. The suspect fled through the back alley toward Cypress Street as soon as she screamed.


A woman from the 700 block of Dallis Street reported a juvenile in her care threw rocks at her car car causing several dents and scratches.
