West Georgia Health announced a new multi-year agreement with United Healthcare that will continue to allow United commercial customers to receive care at all West Georgia Health facilities, as well as with West Georgia Physicians, on an in-network basis.
The contract had been extended several times over past months to allow more time in reaching an agreement.
Director of Marketing and Public Relations for West Georgia Health, Jan Nichols, said the contract now has “easier and more clear language ” for both parties to understand and will ensure accurate compensation for services.
“We feel like it will be easier to move forward now that we have simpler and easier language in the contract,” said Nichols.
Jerry Fulks, West Georgia Health President and CEO, is pleased with the agreement.
“Our patients are our number one priority and we worked diligently with United to protect in-network access to our services,” said Fulks. “We feel that the new contract has language that reimburses us fairly for services we provide, while also recognizing the value West Georgia Health brings to the community. This new agreement enables us to continue to live out our mission of providing our region with the most professional service, compassionate treatment and safest environment to receive care.”
