Police responded to the 500 block of Everett Street on Sunday where a woman reported that, Cordero Cameron, 27, of LaGrange allegedly punched her in the face and stole her cellphone.
Cameron is the father to the victim’s one year old son and they have been in a three-year relationship according to the report.
The victim reported that she was arriving home and saw Cameron sitting on her front porch. She asked her friend to keep driving because she said she knew Cameron would start trouble according to the report.
Again, she returned home and Cameron was still waiting. She grabbed her bags from the car and at that time, Cameron grabbed the driver’s door, but the driver drove off.
The report stated that Cameron then allegedly punched the victim in the right side of her face, stole her cell phone valued at $60, and ran towards his house in the same area. She then ran home and called police.
According to the report, the victim reported that Cameron’s uncle picked him up and drove him away.
Police noticed his uncles’s truck in the area and, according to the report, his uncle said Cameron paid him $5 to drive him and drop him off near Brown Street.
Police arrived at Cameron’s house in the 500 block of Everett Street and arrested him on charges of robbery and simple battery.
Cameron was taken into custody at the LaGrange Police Department and transported to Troup County Sheriff’s Office and booked on robbery and simple battery charges.
