A family favorite returns to the grounds of the Hills and Dales Estate.

The estate will hold it’s seventh annual Picnic in the Gardens from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public, for folks who bring a picnic lunch and blanket to relax on the grounds.

According to Hills and Dales Executive Director, Carleton Wood, children can enjoy pony rides, while the whole family can play classic yard games including: badminton, bocce ball, croquet, ladder ball, and bean bag toss. House tours will also be available at regular price.

“Our picnic has become quite popular with many families returning every year,” said Wood. “The event continues to grow and is a great way to spend quality time with your family. Children always enjoy doing the old-fashioned games and the little ones just love riding the ponies.”

Hills and Dales Estate is the historic home and garden of Fuller E. Callaway and his wife Ida Cason Callaway. The house and garden are operated by Fuller E. Callaway Foundation and open for tours Tuesday through Saturday throughout the year and on Sundays March through June. The estate is located at 1916 Hills & Dales Drive in LaGrange.
