Pedestrian and vehicular traffic across the West Point Dam will be closed to from 8 a.m. until noon today, according to a press release from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The road will be closed to ensure public safety while routine maintenance is conducted on the West Point Dam.
The closure may add travel time to the motorists who use the West Point Dam Road in their daily commutes across the Chattahoochee River. Signs are located at each end of the road to notify the public of its accessibility. Alternate routes across the river are the Hwy 29 bridge in West Point and the Hwy 109 bridge near near LaGrange.
