An argument Saturday ended in violence between a grandmother and her grandson.
It happened at a home in the 600 block of Smoot Street.
According to the LaGrange Police Department, the grandson got mad at the grandmother who accused him of waking her up and stealing some of her possessions. Police say the grandmother said her grandson left the room and came back with something “black” and hit her on the head.
When officers arrived at the home, the boy’s adoptive mother said she found the grandmother holding her head. She also noticed a black skillet out of place on the kitchen table. Upon further investigation, the adoptive mother also found chunks of grease off the bottom of the skillet laying on the grandmother’s bed and floor. She also found clumps of grease on the woman’s nightgown and in her hair where she had been hit.
According to police when they questioned the grandson, he stated his grandmother had fallen off her bedside toilet and blamed him. He also said he went back to bed without notifying anyone else in the house of his grandmother’s fall.
The grandson, who is 13, was detained by juvenile court.
The grandmother was transported to West Georgia Health for medical treatment. Police are still investigating.
