Valley Police arrested a man Monday on rape and burglary charges.

Rhashaud Malik Ali, 21, of Valley, was arrested at his home after a Valley woman reported he allegedly raped her.

According to reports, police responded to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika on June 19, and met with the victim, 22, who told detectives that she was approached by her neighbor, Ali, at her home in the Riverview community on Tuesday, June 17, at approximately 5 p.m.

Reports state that Ali allegedly sexually propositioned her and she declined. A few minutes later, Ali allegedly entered her home uninvited and raped her.

Ali was located by detectives and interviewed. Based on interviews, police arrested him on charges of rape in the first degree and burglary in the first degree according to reports.

Ali was transferred to the Chambers County Detention Facility where he will be held without bond.
