LaGrange police responded to an alleged armed robbery in the 1300 block of Fourth Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to a police report, at about 2:14 a.m., officers received a call that the alleged victim, was just getting off work and walking to her car when she noticed an unknown person in her vehicle. At that time, the unknown male exited her car and allegedly approached the victim brandishing a knife.
The victim began to run away, but fell to the ground .The suspect then allegedly took the victim’s purse and fled on foot toward Troup Street, the report said.
Officers began checking the area and located a suspect, later identified as Robert Lee Parker, 29, who matched the description that was given to the officers.
Officers later found the victim’s purse in a wooded area near the suspect’s residence and were able to recover some of the victim’s property.
Robert Lee Parker was charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of aggravated assault and one count of entering an automobile. He was booked into the Troup County Jail without bond.
