Helpful tips from the public led Troup County Sheriff’s investigators to the suspect seen on surveillance video robbing the Hog Heaven restaurant off West Point Road last year.

According to the Troup County Sheriffs Office, with the assistance of the Auburn, Alabama, Police Department, 43-year-old James Christopher Jenkins was arrested and charged with armed robbery. He is currently be held in the Lee County Jail awaiting extradition to Troup County.

Investigators say Jenkins walked into the restaurant on the afternoon of July 25th, 2013, pointed a handgun at the cashier and demanded money. He then left the building with an undisclosed amount of cash. The Sheriffs Office say they’ve been flooded with tips about the robbery and earlier this week very credible information about the case came in which led to Jenkin’s arrest.

TCSO Investigators say they’re could be additional arrests. They’re still investigating.
