I am writing in regard to a problem that we have in our schools. Bullying is a big problem in our schools today. We need to take this seriously before it becomes an even more serious problem. It is clear that our district’s bullying policy needs to be reviewed and improved.
The psychological torment causes a great deal of pain both mentally and physically. Bullying is linked to a variety of educational concerns. Bullying is something that no one should ever have to suffer. Bullying can have a lifelong effect on the victim and the bully.
As a parent and educator, I have experienced firsthand some of the cruel and vicious bullying that goes on in our schools. Every child deserves an environment where they can develop without fear of aggression or cruelty. It saddens me to see so many kids being affected by this growing issue, we must take a stand against bullying. Before we demand that our children meet high standards of academic achievement, we must guarantee our children the opportunity to learn in an environment that does not threaten their physical and emotional well-being.
I hope our schools will launch an Anti-Bullying Program. In this program, all students will be educated about bullying and its affects on their classmates and themselves. Students will be presented with interactive and age appropriate materials about how they can decrease and prevent bullying in their school. The program will be an ongoing process throughout the school year that will include real consequences for bullying. Raising the awareness of the issue in the community is also essential for the prevention of bullying.
Please give full support to this program, and help make our schools safe and nurturing place to learn for all children. Together, we can help our schools end this epidemic and restore and create safe and welcoming schools for our children. Let’s all stand up and make the necessary changes to reverse this growing trend of cruelty and unkindness.
