English tea to benefit Bellevue


LaGrange Woman’s Club hosts An Authentic English Tea on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at 204 Ben Hill St. Cost is a $20 donation to benefit Bellevue, or $15 for students. Reservations are required and due today. Call 706-884-1832 or 706-882-0906. Sponsored by LaGrange Woman’s Club Charitable Trust.


Play to benefit local music minister


The Lafayette Christian School Drama Department presents a live radio theater version of “It’s a Wonderful Life” at the school, 1904 Hamilton Road. Fifty percent of the proceeds of this show will go to benefit Zach Hall, minister of music at Sovereign Grace Church who recently was diagnosed with kidney failure. Show times are 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased by calling the LCS office at 706-884-6684.


Downtown event to benefit children’s hospital


Downtown event A Christmas Miracle is Saturday on Lafayette Square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will offer children of all ages a chance to visit Mrs. Claus’ kitchen for a homemade holiday treat and hot chocolate, create personalized wrapping paper at It’s a Wrap, make reindeer food in Santa’s Stable and decorate Christmas cards for patients at CHOA. A sing-along of Christmas songs also will be included. A donation of $5 is requested to participate in the event. Santa Claus will appear at the conclusion of the event and children are welcome to visit and take pictures with Santa on the square until 4 p.m.
