Moonlight Ballroom Dance Club to start eight-week course
A new Thursday night, eight-week session of Moonlight Ballroom Dance Club lessons will be starting in LaGrange on Feb. 6 for couples of all ages high school and up.
Tony Peregoy and Becky Ashoff will be teaching at the Active Life Center ballroom. The beginner class will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the intermediate class will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The beginner class will be for couples who have not had ballroom lessons before.
“If you’ve never had a dance lesson, but you can tell your right foot from your left foot, you will enjoy taking beginner lessons with Tony and Becky,” said Moonlight Ballroom Dance Club member Margee Keeble. “They will be teaching five or six dance styles in each eight-week session, including foxtrot, waltz, swing and more. With this format, at the end of the eight weeks, the students will be able to go to a dance and feel comfortable doing a few steps of any style dance. Once you learn to do some of the Ballroom patterns, you can find a dance within about an hour’s drive of LaGrange – including LaGrange – nearly every weekend of the month.”
There are ballroom dance clubs in LaGrange, Columbus, Auburn, Ala., and Fayetteville. Couples of all ages – high school and up – are welcome to attend the classes. The cost will be $80 per couple for the eight weeks.
Dress is casual, with non-rubber sole shoes for the most comfort in doing turns. For more information or to pre-register, call Tony Peregoy at 1-334-476-0086.
