SMYRNA, Tenn. — LaGrange native Dr. Corbi Milligan, daughter of Charles and Diane Milligan of LaGrange, was recognized by Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Magazine during the annual Women in Business luncheon on March 5 for her commitment and leadership through her role as a physician at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, Tenn.
Milligan currently serves as the EmCare Hospitalist Site Medical Director for TriStar StoneCrest, managing a group of 10 hospitalists. Milligan also works with EmCare’s South Division implementing process improvement and physician management at various sites.
Milligan joined TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, Tenn., and the Rutherford County medical community in 2004. She has held multiple leadership roles in the hospital over the past decade, including chief of medicine, chief of staff and physician advisor for case management and utilization review.
Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in biology from Prairie View A&M University; a medical degree from University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center; an internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics with Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center; and a master’s in business administration from University of Tennessee Knoxville.
Milligan’s parents, Charles and Diane Milligan, still reside in LaGrange and were in Murfreesboro, Tenn., for the luncheon.
“Women in Business” is an annual issue Murfreesboro Magazine created to recognize outstanding females in business leadership positions. The 2014 issue features 15 women who have a positive impact both in their businesses/organizations and in the community.
