The West Point Woman’s Club’s Artistic Moments Cafe returns on July 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The featured visual artist for this month is Becky Guinn, joined by performing artist Corbin Hoats.
Becky Guinn is a life-long artist, who began specializing in watercolor painting after the loss of her arms and legs in 2003. After retiring from teaching art at Valley High School in Alabama, she began a non-profit program, Hooked On Art, which took art into schools across Alabama. She continues to be an inspirational speaker at venues throughout the country and her artwork can be viewed on her website at www.beckyguinn.org.
Live music will be provided by Corbin Hoats, who has established an eclectic musical repertoire. He plays at venues in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. In addition to classic songs, he also writes original music and adds his unique sound to cover versions of popular songs.
Local professional artists will continue to share their artwork and talents on the second Friday evening of each month at the cafe. Young artists will be guests at similar events on the fourth Friday of each month.
