Local hosting raffle to raise money for orphan
A LaGrange resident is hosting a fundraising raffle at noon on Saturday at the former Hill Street House, now Holliday Realty.
Megan Latulippe is helping raise funds for Project 143 to bring a 15 year old girl out of a Ukrainian orphanage to spend Christmas with a host family.
“In Ukraine, orphaned children age out at 16 and are sent out the door with a backpack and a change of clothes,” Latulippe said. “A majority of them end up becoming sex slaves, sex workers, and drug dealers/mules in order to keep from being homeless. If you were to donate, It would be a complete tax write off and you would be provided with tax receipts as well as the specific orphan that the donation went to so others will be able to read about her and your good deed could be advertised.”
Latulippe said she is trying to get donations of items to raffle off to the public at the event. The open house is free and will have vendors along with free games, free food, free drinks, free cotton candy and gift bags.
“Our table will have someone doing make up for the little girls and women and we’re working on ideas on what game to have for the boys,” Latulippe said. “Right now we up for grabs we have a mini photo session with a LaGrange photographer, an Avon basket, Mary Kay basket and we might also have a Florida beach rental that will be up to win for a free week.
