The American Red Cross has more resources to help those in need, thanks to the Kia manufacturing center in West Point.

Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, KMMG, recently donated five thousand dollars to the Georgia Three Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross. Employees also gave items so the ARC can make more comfort kits for their clients. The kits are given to people after a disaster and include things like shampoo, soap, toothpaste. a tooth brush, comb, brush, and a wash cloth.
KMMG partnered with the ARC in recognition of National Red Cross month.
“We wanted to show our support for the many valuable services the Red Cross provides to the community,” said Randy Jackson, Senior Vice President of human resources and administration for KMMG. “The Red Cross has helped several KMMG members with the tools and support they needed to get back on the road to recovery after a disaster, and we are proud of the team members who rose to the occasion to give back.”
Red Cross executives said the donations are appreciated.
“Kia has always been a great source in assisting us with disaster relief efforts,” said Connie Hensler, Executive Director of the Georgia Three Rivers chapter of the American Red Cross. “We appreciate Kia and it’s team members for allowing us to be a recipient of its generosity in helping the community.”
The Three Rivers chapter is headquartered in LaGrange. They cover ten counties and has helped more than 550 individuals in the area, including several KMMG team members who have suffered fires and other devastating losses.
