The man accused of robbing a local restaurant by gunpoint was denied bond in magistate court on Wednesday.

James Christopher Jenkins, 43, is charged with the armed robbery of the Hog Heaven restaurant on July 25, 2013.

Jenkins was arrested this year by the Troup County Sheriffs Office, with assistance from the Auburn, Alabama, Police Department, on July 29. Investigators with TCSO said a tip with credible information led to Jenkins’ arrest. He was extradited from the Lee County Jail to Troup County to face charges.

Investigators believe Jenkins is the man who walked into the Hog Heaven restaurant, pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money. The robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Jenkins next will face a committal hearing in magistrate court on Aug. 21.
