LaGrange police responded to a home in the 200 block of Render Street, where they found a man who said he was attacked with a lawnmower blade.
When officers arrived they found the victim, who said he was attacked while sleeping outside the home of John Ellis. The victim said Ellis attacked him with a lawn mower blade for no reason. Officers said the victim did have a laceration to his left bicep.
Officers interviewed the victim and other people at the residence who said Ellis also verbally harassed them and threatened to kill them.
Ellis was arrested and transported to the Troup County Jail on a charge of battery.
LaGrange Police responded to a report of a burglary in a home on Boulevard Street.
Officers say the victim stated she had been out of town and when she returned home she noticed several items missing from inside the house. Those items include $230 worth of groceries, a 37-inch TV, a 47-inch Phillips TV, a Nintendo Wii, a Magnavox DVD player and 10 Wii games. The total value of stolen items was more than $2,400.
Police were investigating.
