A teenager faces burglary charges after investigators believe he stole lottery tickets and other items from a business.
Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office arrested Austin Lee Shaddix, 17, of LaGrange, on charges of burglary, violation of the Georgia Lottery Act and possession of burglary tools.
Investigators beleive Shaddix forcibly entered a business by ripping down burglar bars on a window. He allegedly entered the store and stole lottery tickets and other merchandise.
Investigators, with the assistance of the LaGrange Police Deaprtment, tracked Shaddix to a local motel where he was taken into custody. Law enforcement officers said they also recovered some of the stolen items inside the location.
Shaddix is now behind bars in the Troup County Jail and is awaiting a bond hearing. The LaGrange Police Department filed additional charges against Shaddix.
