LaGrange police are investigating a stabbing in the Benjamin Harvey Hill Housing Authority which occurred early Saturday morning.
According to police, they met the victim, Quydarius Weldon at the West Georgia Health emergency room. Weldon told officers he was walking on Chatham Street when an unknown black male called out to him. Weldon said he tried to avoid the man, but the suspect grabbed and stabbed him with an unknown weapon. Weldon said he managed to get away and last saw the man running towards Baldwin Street.
The suspect is described as an African American male, with a medium length afro, wearing a white shirt, and blue shorts.
Weldon was released from the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

LaGrange Police also responded to a report of a battery inside the Daniel Street Food Mart Saturday afternoon.
According to the report, 45-year-old Andrea Lavelle Jones, was harassing a female customer inside the store. When an employee tried to step in, Jones became belligerent, cussing and yelling at him. The victim said Jones left the store, came back five minutes later, and began punching him in the face before leaving the store for good.
Police then tracked Jones to a home in the 100 block of Revis Street, where they repeatedly knocked on the door and used their PA system telling him to come outside. Jones finally opened the door, but when he tried to retreat back inside, officers were able to cuff and arrest him.
In addition to the battery charge, Jones was also charged with obstruction.
The victim suffered a swollen lip, plus additional bruising and swelling to his face. He is expected to be okay.
