WACO — The West Georgia Technical College Foundation’s fundraising event, Black Tie & Boots, has a limited number of tickets available.
The concert is Aug. 9 at the Murphy Campus at 7 p.m. The Murphy Campus of WGTC is located at 176 Murphy Campus Blvd. in Waco near Interstate 20, about 20 minutes north of Carrollton. Due to the confirmed number of corporate sponsorships, the number of tickets on sale to the public is very limited.
Country singer Wynonna & The Big Noise will grace the stage at the Murphy Campus Conference Center at this year’s concert, marking the 13th anniversary of Black Tie & Boots at West Georgia Technical College. Wynonna is known for being one half of the duo The Judds with her mother Naomi Judd.
Her solo career led to a quintuple platinum album, four number one hits, the Top Female Vocalist of the Year trophy at the ACM Awards and being named “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline” by Rolling Stone. Past country artists who have performed at the annual concert include Blake Shelton, Gary Allan, Little Big Town and last year’s performer, Montgomery Gentry.
While Black Tie & Boots is known for bringing the latest country stars to West Georgia, its impact on the community goes deeper than entertainment. Proceeds from the event this year go toward student scholarships.
“The West Georgia Technical College Foundation is an essential part of our college,” said West Georgia Technical College President Steve G. Daniel. “It is because of the Foundation and its support that we are able to make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty and staff and in our communities.”
Tickets go on sale to the public today at $125 per person or $950 per table. The ticket price includes a seated meal and concert. Attendees get valet parking, a professional photographer and a walk on the red carpet.
The doors open at 6 p.m. with the concert beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Kevin Cain at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 678-664-0516.
