On Sept. 12, the inaugural class of the West Georgia Health Insiders series graduated 19 community leaders.
The annual program is sponsored by the West Georgia Health Foundation to increase understanding of the changes occurring in the healthcare industry and their impact on local families and organizations.
Insiders participate in seven monthly sessions that include presentations by physicians and hospital leaders along with tours of key department including surgery, cardiovascular services, hospice, home care, occupational medicine, wound care, emergency, women’s health services, physical therapy and oncology.
West Georgia Health President and CEO Jerry Fulks saw a clear benefit to hosting the new program.
“In these times of rapid change in healthcare, it’s more important than ever to keep our community leaders informed about what is going on in their local hospital and health system,” Fulks said. “It is evident from the experience of our inaugural class that the Insiders program helps us accomplish that goal.”
