A day later than originally scheduled, the LaGrange College basketball teams will head to Alabama to take on rival Huntingdon today.

The games were supposed to be played on Wednesday, but they were postponed because of the winter storm.

The LaGrange College teams are looking to maintain their stellar play of late.

First up will be the women’s game at 6:30 p.m., with the men’s game to follow at 8:30 p.m.

The LaGrange College women’s team has been red-hot.

With Sunday’s 76-66 victory over North Carolina-Wesleyan, the Panthers (12-6) have won seven straight games.

After starting 0-3 in the USA South, the Panthers have won six straight games in the conference.

Huntingdon is also playing well.

The Hawks (12-5 overall) have won four of their past five games to improve to 4-4 in the conference.

Today’s men’s game also features two teams on a hot streak.

The Panthers (11-7 overall) have won seven of their past nine games, and they’re 5-2 in the USA South.

The Panthers are coming off Sunday’s 100-76 victory over North Carolina-Wesleyan.

The Hawks are only 4-11 overall, but they’ve got their season on track with three straight wins.

On Sunday, Huntingdon beat William Peace 74-64 to even its USA South record at 3-3.

“The team is excited right now. We’re playing hard, we’re playing well and it feels good to have won three straight,” Huntingdon head coach Mike Pugh said. “We’ve been playing hard all season, but the difference is now we’re making better decisions on the court. We’re getting the ball to the right people in the right places at the right time.”
