Quadarius Patillo started out hot, and he never slowed down Wednesday night to lead the Callaway Cavaliers to an 82-36 victory over the Haralson County Rebels.
Patillo, a junior, attempted 13 3-point attempts, and he made 10 of them to finish with a team-high 30 points.
Patillo was 2-for-2 on 3-point attempts in the first quarter, and he was 6-of-8 from long range in the second quarter.
Patillo made two more 3-pointers in the third period to cap his phenomenal night.
Dre Martin added 10 points, and Terry Godwin pulled down 12 rebounds.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Cavaliers held on for a 50-48 victory.
Also on Wednesday, LaGrange High’s teams lost at Fayette County.
In the boys’ game, the Grangers were down 27-20 at the half, but they were unable to keep it close in the second half on the way to a 65-41 loss.
In the girls’ game, LaGrange lost 54-28, with Antoinesha Dozier and Andrea Heflin each scoring 10 points.
At Carrollton, Troup’s teams each fell short.
In the boys’ game, Carrollton handled Troup 73-48, and Carrollton won the girls’ game 57-18.
The LaGrange College men’s basketball team outlasted Piedmont 95-89 in overtime on Wednesday.
Mark Wagner led the Panthers with 20 points, Denzel Robinson scored 17 points, Braxton Ford and Nick Mitchell had 14 points apiece, and Patrick Dugger scored 10 points.
The Panthers were up 44-25 at the half, but the Lions stormed back to tie it at 80-80 at the end of regulation.
The Panthers (12-8 overall) then dominated the overtime period to improve to 6-3 in USA South play.
In the women’s game, the Panthers lost 76-72.
The Panthers rallied from a 16-point deficit early in the second half to build a 58-55 lead thanks to a 19-0 run.
Piedmont answered with an 8-0 run to take the lead for good.
Madison Barker led the Panthers with 20 points.
