It’s tournament time.
The road to the state playoffs will begin today for the basketball teams from LaGrange and Troup, who will be competing in the Region 5-AAAA tournament.
All four teams will need to win their games today to keep their seasons alive.
Each team from LaGrange and Troup will need to win two games in the region tournament to make it to state.
Today’s boys’ games will be played at LaGrange High, and the girls’ games will be played at Alexander.
At LaGrange, first up at 6 p.m. will be sixth-seeded Shaw taking on seventh-seeded Troup.
At 7:30 p.m., fifth-seeded LaGrange will play eighth-seeded Columbus.
The winners of the two games will advance to the second round on Wednesday.

In the first meeting, Shaw edged Troup 64-58.
In the rematch Friday night in Columbus, Shaw won 79-64, but it was a one-point game with about a minute left.

In the first game, LaGrange held on for a 53-47 victory in Columbus.
In the second game, LaGrange had to rally from a huge late deficit to beat Columbus 69-66.
