The waiting game continues for the Callaway Lady Cavaliers.

They were originally going to play their Region 4-AAA tournament opener on Wednesday, but that game was pushed back to Friday because of the winter storm.

Now, the schedule has been adjusted again, and the Lady Cavaliers will play their first tournament game on Monday at 3 p.m.

The third-seeded Lady Cavaliers will play either Rockmart or Haralson County, who will play Saturday in a first-round game.

The Callaway Cavaliers, meanwhile, won’t play their first tournament game until Tuesday.

By virtue of their second seed, the Cavaliers have earned a bye into the tournament semifinals.

All of the semifinal games will be Tuesday, and the championship game is Wednesday.

All of the tournament games are being played at Haralson County.

The Region 5-AAAA tournament schedule has also been switched around.

The LaGrange Grangers, who beat the Columbus Blue Devils in a first-round game on Monday, were originally going to play a second-round game against Carrollton on Wednesday.

Instead, that game will be played today at 6 p.m. at Sandy Creek.

The semifinal games will be Saturday at Alexander, and the championship games will be Monday, also at Alexander.

The LaGrange Lady Grangers, and both teams from Troup, were eliminated in the first round.

The preseason games involving Callaway, LaGrange and Troup have all been pushed back a day from Friday to Saturday.

Callaway was set to host LaGrange on Friday, but that game will instead be played on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Troup was set to visit Northgate on Friday, and that game will now be played on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The state finals were scheduled for this weekend at The Arena at Gwinnett Center, but the event has been postponed.

The finals will be held next weekend instead, and locations have not yet been determined.

Because so many region tournaments across the state have been delayed because of the winter weather, the start of the state tournament has been pushed back.

Regions now have until Wednesday to complete their tournaments, so the state tournament obviously won’t be able to begin on Tuesday as originally planned.

The Georgia High School Association hasn’t announced when the first-round state games will be played.
